South Alabama Jaguar basketball stays hot versus Texas St. defeating the Bobcats 76-67. The Jaguars have now won 5 straight with just one regular season game left.
The Jags, once again never trailed and the game was only tied twice.
The Jags would open the scoring up on a layup by Kevin Samuel at the 19:27 mark of the first half. Texas would tie it up on the next possession at 2-2. South would get another 2 points on a layup by Isaiah Moore. Texas St would tie it back up at 4-4 on the next possession at the 17:55 mark in the first half. The Jaguars would hold the lead the rest of the game.
The game went back and forth. South Alabama would slowly build on the lead. The Jaguars would increase the lead to around 5-7 points throughout the half. Only to have Texas St get the score back to within 1 point throughout the 1st half. The Jags would eventually lead at halftime 38-33.
South Alabama would increase the lead to double digits, for the first time of the evening at the 14:12 mark of the 2nd half. The score was 48-38. The lead would balloon to 15 points, Texas St would only be able to get as close as 9 points for the rest of the game.
