Jaguar softball and Lackie shut out ULM 6-0. Olivia Lackie pitched a complete game, two hit shut out.
South Alabama continued their excellent play tonight, pounding out 10 hits on the night.
How It Happened
South Alabama started the scoring off in the bottom of the third. Meredith Keel led off the inning walking on 4 pitches. Mackenzie Brasher grounded out to third for out one. Victoria Ortiz walked bringing up Sasha Willems with two on and one out. Willems hit an rbi single to right. The Jaguars led 1-0. Odalys Cordova walked to load the bases. Gabby Stagner grounded into a double play, to end the inning.
In the bottom of the 4th inning the Jags continued to flex their offensive muscles. Abby Allen walked to lead off the inning. Bailey Welch flied out to center for out one. Marley Sims doubled and picked up the rbi off a throwing error by the shortstop. The Jags led 2-0. Keel was the next up. Meredith hit an rbi double to left center. Brasher hit the first pitch through the right side for an rbi single. The Jaguars led 4-0. After Ortiz grounded out. Willems singled to center scoring Brasher, the score was 5-0 Jags. Cordova would be retired ending the inning.
In the bottom of the sixth the Jaguars would add one more run, on a Willems sac fly scoring Brasher on the play. The Jags led 6-0, which would be the final.
Game Stats
Olivia Lackie improved her record to 12-4 on the season.
Mackenzie Brasher went 3-4 with 1 rbi.
Sasha Willems went 2-2 with 3 rbi’s
